Overview

We are excited to be recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineer to join a global business in Chester. This role is crucial for the design, development, and continuous improvement of mechanical components and manufacturing processes within the lifting equipment industry, focusing on safety, quality, and performance.

Day-to-day Of The Role
  • Design mechanical components and develop complete assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Support the prototyping, testing, and validation phases of new product development.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage materials and Bills of Materials (BOMs) within SAP, including scheduling, usage tracking, cost control, and inventory oversight.
  • Continuously improve manufacturing processes focusing on safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve design and production issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Serve as the primary contact for team queries, delivering responsive and customer-friendly support to resolve technical issues effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or equivalent minimum).
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD design software.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation abilities.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive approach to change.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, practical work.
  • Willingness for occasional UK travel and working outside core business hours.
