Job summary

Adecco Workington are recruiting a Manufacturing Engineer to join a successful and growing engineering business based in Carlisle. This full-time role operates Monday to Friday and offers a salary up to £43,000 per annum, with flexibility for the right candidate following probation.

Key responsibilities include supporting manufacturing and engineering processes, managing data, and driving continuous improvement and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Experience using ERP/manufacturing systems such as SAP or IFS.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work across multiple departments and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing and engineering processes.
• Manage engineering data and system updates.
• Maintain production and engineering data accuracy.
• Support continuous improvement and quality processes.
• Assist with production planning, workflow coordination and technical documentation.
• Create and update bills of materials, shop orders and production docs.
• Collaborate with design, production, purchasing and other departments to improve efficiency.
• Assist with inventory and process control.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting manufacturing and engineering processes
• Managing engineering data and system updates
• Maintaining production and engineering data
• Supporting continuous improvement and quality processes
• Assisting with production planning, workflow coordination and technical documentation
• Creating and updating bills of materials, shop orders and production documentation
• Working closely with design, production, purchasing and internal departments to support operational efficiency
• Assisting with inventory and manufacturing process control

Qualifications

• Previous experience within manufacturing or engineering environments
• Experience using ERP or manufacturing systems such as SAP, IFS or similar
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Proactive, positive and team‑focused attitude
