Qualifications

• Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Sector: Aerospace

Location: Bournemouth

Full Time: 39h a week, Mon - Thur 8:00 - 17:00, Friday 8:00 - 13:00

Manufacturing Engineer Overview:

You will need a broad understanding of manufacturing processes to effectively work with production and R&D engineering. Your role will involve creating CNC programs/instructions to enable production cells to manufacture components per client demands. You will participate in new product design reviews and continuously strive to improve manufacturing processes by evaluating existing processes and workflows.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

• Creating programs for CNC machines to manufacture components as required.
• Researching, recommending, and purchasing cutting tools for new and current production.
• Liaising with production to minimize disruption during new component proofing.
• Creating, reviewing, and amending manufacturing layouts for production operatives.
• Providing front-line support for program and machine errors, escalating to maintenance as needed.
• Supporting production and maintenance activities to maximize output, including minor machine maintenance.
• Monitoring and replenishing the tool vending machine to meet production needs.
• Liaising with purchasing for material procurement to meet production requirements.
• Developing operating instructions, layouts, inspection guides, and equipment specifications.
• Leading or supporting projects for new equipment and process implementation.
• Improving processes through tooling strategies to enhance yield and reduce cycle time.
• Leading or supporting continuous improvement projects and the introduction of COS.

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:

• HNC/D in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or apprentice-trained with at least 2 years' proven experience.
• Experience with CNC programming (Siemens, Fanuc, Mazatrol, etc.).
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (Solid Edge).
• Understanding of machine shop processes.
• Experience with 2D CAD / 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Knowledge of MRP / ERP systems.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
