Job Summary
As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will report to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer. Your role will be to support the day-to-day operations within the Value Stream.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide support to manufacturing operations.
- Develop and document manufacturing standard work instructions and ensure their implementation.
- Develop manufacturing process improvements to reduce defects and increase throughput.
- Focus on process robustness using control measures like SPC and Cpk.
- Lead problem-solving projects related to manufacturing issues to improve yield.
- Update manufacturing documentation to maintain configuration control and manage Point of Introduction activities.
- Support Concessions / MRB processes and lead improvements to eliminate customer escapes through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Ensure process compliance with productivity improvements.
- Manage small capital and tooling projects within the value stream.
- Coordinate process improvement, cost reduction, and defect reduction projects using lean tools and problem-solving techniques.
- Participate in risk assessments and support corresponding actions.
- Build internal relationships to support business objectives.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering fields such as Physics, Chemistry, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering. An associate degree with 4 years of experience may be considered.
- At least 3 years in a manufacturing engineering environment, with knowledge of SPC, mechanical drawings, tool design, and machinery troubleshooting.
- US citizenship required for compliance with ITAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with concessions / MRB and frontline support in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in problem-solving techniques like 5 Whys, 8D, DMAIC.
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering.
- Experience with process control and lean tools in a production setting.
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.
- Strong communication, reporting, and leadership skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office tools.
- Experience with customer specifications and standards.
- Experience in glass processing or laminating industries is a plus.
