Due to continued investment, growth, and expansion, an opportunity has become available for a Manufacturing Director responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, quality control, and cost-effective processes. This role will drive manufacturing excellence through inspiring teams and building a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement across Engineering and Manufacturing departments. It suits an ambitious Operations/Manufacturing leader seeking growth in a fast-growing, niche manufacturing company, with clear opportunities to develop into a Managing Director role. The company is stable, well-invested, and growing, with strong mentoring support from the Managing Director.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production, engineering, and quality teams (approximately 60 employees), including health and safety responsibilities.
  • Develop operational strategies to optimise efficiency and ensure compliance within a safety-critical industry.
  • Promote a culture of customer focus and continuous improvement.
  • Provide development opportunities through training, skills development, and mentoring.
  • Optimise factory layout and operational productivity.
  • Participate actively in leadership to foster continuous improvement across the business.
Candidate Requirements
  • Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing operations and team leadership.
  • Ability to inspire and mentor teams.
  • Experience with lean processing and manufacturing process optimisation.
  • Project delivery experience, including factory automation.
  • Experience in high-precision industries requiring compliance and certifications.
  • Knowledge of Safe Management of Manufacturing Operations.
  • Located within commuting distance of Kent or willing to relocate.
