Job summary

Aspiring Manufacturing Design Engineer role in Burnley requires experience in design for manufacture and SolidWorks CAD. You will bridge design, documentation and workshop teams to ensure accurate BOMs and smooth manufacturing transitions.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing/Production Engineering experience required.
• SolidWorks CAD experience essential.
• Experience with PDM/PLM and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Produce detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing, fabrication and assembly.
• Review and update CAD models and drawings with accurate documentation.
• Identify and implement practical design improvements to enhance manufacturability and reliability.
• Create, update and manage BOMs (Bills of Materials).
• Design sheet metal components and produce manufacturing drawings.
• Collaborate with workshop technicians during builds to resolve queries.
• Prepare clear assembly instructions and supporting documentation.
• Configure and modify existing equipment to meet manufacturing needs.
• Manage engineering changes and revision control in a manufacturing environment.
• Maintain CAD data within PDM systems and ensure accurate BOM structures.
• Support Design for Manufacture and continuous improvement initiatives.
