Manufacturing Controller

Join a leading partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence! Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced manufacturing controller with a strong background in stores management. In this role, you'll be responsible for loading, controlling, and monitoring work packages within a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bolton. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in stores environments or manufacturing control.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Experienced in Manufacturing control and with an Enterprise Planning System, e.g., SAP.
2. Issue, receipt and management of stores and inventory in a store's environment.
3. Stock control/storekeeping, including shelf-life control (highly essential).
4. Load the manufacturing cells with the requisite jobs according to planned lead and cycle times to comply with manufacturing programmes and delivery schedules.
5. Packing includes the use of hand tools and receiving and issuing tooling.
6. Kitting (assembling all the necessary components for a worker to complete a task) activity (highly essential).
7. Loading and unloading of Lorries.

What do you need?

1. Experience in a store's environment or manufacturing control.
2. Ability to follow instructions and willingness to work flexible shift patterns.
3. Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
4. Manual handling and ESD training.
5. Lifting & Slinging training (including overhead cranes).

Desirable skills:

1. Lineside/Stores experience required to be considered (warehousing irrelevant).
2. PC skills, including EXCEL.
3. Forklift truck licence & medical (FLT licence required).
4. Knowledge of Kanban and two bin systems.
5. Experience with an Enterprise Planning System, e.g., SAP.

Security Clearance:

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our client's Security Team.

This job is at our client's site in Bolton facility, one of the North West's leading manufacturing sites for at least 25 years.
