Job summary

Herbert Parkinson, part of the John Lewis Partnership, seeks a Commercial Analyst to protect margins through accurate pricing, margin analysis, and ERP data integrity. You will own BOMs and labour timings, ensuring data accuracy across the ERP system and supporting pricing strategies to drive commercial growth.

The role offers a permanent contract, 38.75 hours per week, based at Darwen, Lancashire, with a night premium for hours 22:00–06:00 (£4.75/hr).

Qualifications

• Experience in cost analysis or product data roles in manufacturing.
• Advanced data modelling techniques and analytics.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear reports and recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain product cost models to evaluate costs and ensure target gross margins on new and existing products.
• Monitor material price fluctuations, labour inflation, and market trends to recommend timely price adjustments.
• Support creation and validation of customer quotes, price lists, and promotional pricing structures.
• Provide clean, validated commercial data to Finance, Sales and Supply Chain for budgeting, forecasting and negotiations.
• Manage creation and maintenance of product setups, labour timings and BOMs within the ERP system; process BOM/timing changes.
• Support the Product Manager in exiting products and removing BOMs/timings efficiently to avoid customer impact.
