Job summary

Macstaff is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Engineer in Witney, Oxfordshire. You will own automation projects from concept through to implementation, designing and improving PLC-controlled equipment and production processes in a high-volume environment.

The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, working cross-functionally with Production, Design and Quality teams to deliver reliable machinery, automation solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong practical background in production or manufacturing automation.
• Experience delivering automation improvements in high-volume environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, manage and implement new factory production processes.
• Develop manufacturing automation and production equipment.
• Undertake PLC and/or CNC programming for automation systems.
• Support NPI including factory layout and capital equipment procurement.
• Use CAD to develop designs and drive continuous improvement.
• Improve quality, efficiency, output and cost through automation.
