Manufacturing Operator

Greenwich Area

Ongoing Long-term role

£12.93 p/h


We are currently recruiting Manufacturing Operators to work in a busy clean production environment on behalf of a global telecommunications company. We are looking for people who can produce high quality precision work, have an eye for detail and are willing to learn.
Manufacturing Operators are responsible for following documented processes to enable the safe and accurate mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly of subsea and land-based telecommunication equipment, which may also require fibre optic handling & splicing.
Full, paid training is provided in their state-of-the-art Training School facilities based on site in Greenwich, SE London.
Previous experience in roles of a similar nature would be particularly advantageous.
Manufacturing Operators are required for various departments, with each distinct role contributing to the creation of high specification product, adhering to specific requirements, yet collectively playing a vital and unique role in the overall creation and assembly of the product.
All work is carried out in an Electrostatic Protected Area.
Manufacturing Operator's duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Assembly: Assemble components or products according to specified guidelines & drawings.
  • Following Procedures: Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Machine Operating: Operate and monitor production specific equipment and/or machinery as part the manufacturing process.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production activities and product specifications.
  • Material Handling: Manage the handling, storage, and transportation of materials within the manufacturing area.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for quality and ensure they meet established standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and escalate issues with equipment or processes to ensure smooth operations and quality of product.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve production goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in efforts to improve efficiency, quality, and overall manufacturing processes.

The positions may also involve tasks such as manual handling, lifting of heavy objects, manual dexterity, and periods of sitting or standing.

Hours of Work

Manufacturing Operators will be required to work shifts of both Days & Nights, on a 2-week rotation.

Please note these hours are mandatory

Days (x2 weeks) = 42.5 hrs

Monday - Thursday 6am - 5:45pm

Nights (x2 weeks) = 42.5

Monday - Thursday: 6pm - 5.15am
