Job description

Manufacturing Assembly Operative

Due to a continued increase in business levels, we now require an additional three Manufacturing Assembly Operatives to join our well-established team. Working from our modern site at Yateley, you will be part of our professional and friendly manufacturing teams across the site. We are a respected international engineering and manufacturing company supplying customers worldwide with a range of products.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Assemble products from PCB level through sub-assembly to finished units, following engineering drawings. (Note: In-house PCB assembly is limited; most PCBs are externally supplied.)
  2. Build to wiring schedules, using appropriate meters to check assembled work.
  3. Identify and report any specification or design errors to Cell Coordinators, Departmental Managers, or the Production Engineering team.
  4. Ensure all activities comply with current Quality System procedures and standards, aiming to meet recommended times on the ERP system.
  5. Raise non-conformance reports, Observation Reports, and Engineering Change requests as per the Quality System and departmental guidelines.
  6. Establish effective working relationships with departments such as Production Engineering, Stores, and Quality to resolve assembly issues promptly.
  7. Assist and support other assembly staff when required to complete activities.
  8. Follow all Manufacturing Department administrative procedures and maintain records using provided systems.
  9. Utilize company IT resources, including the Intranet and ERP system, for day-to-day activities like part inquiries and stock searches.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in manufacturing assembly, preferably with skills in soldering, cable assembly, mechanical assembly, wiring, or crimping, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings. Experience with surface-mount technology and ERP systems is advantageous but not essential.
