Job Description Summary

Become part of a winning team and help to deliver the Green Energy transition.

You will be part of a team focused on the manufacture of large power transformers to meet customer and production plans, ensuring assembly, inspection, and testing are conducted using Lean methodology.

Working to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools and methods.

Meeting the standards expected by the customer.

Shift Patterns Available:
  • 6am – 2pm
  • 2pm – 10pm
  • 10pm – 6am
Job Description
Role Summary:

Environment / Health / Safety: Compliance with EHS adherence to safe working procedures for your safety and your colleagues.

Product on time delivery: Responsible for building the product according to the manufacturing plan.

Product Quality:

  • Responsible for the build quality of the product in line with standard operating instructions.
  • May assist in training others.

Product Cost: Responsible for efficient manufacturing in line with defined processes.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity without compromising quality, delivery, or safety.
  • Propose improvements and savings through the Employee Ideas Scheme.

Maintenance:

  • Follow routine maintenance schedules and cleaning plans for workstations, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Report issues to the Production Support Engineer/Coordinator.
  • Support other duties as required to support manufacturing.
  • Be adaptable to future business needs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Good general education with confirmed qualifications.
  • Experience in light mechanical assembly or similar; electrical/electronic qualifications are an advantage.
Desired Characteristics:
  • EHS compliance with GE Life Saving Rules.
  • Safe working practices.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques, Kanban, and Flow/Pull techniques is advantageous.
  • Mechanical/Electrical aptitude is a plus.
  • Manual handling expertise.
  • Ability to follow standard procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret diagrams, drawings, and schematics; comfortable with touch screen technology and IT skills.
