Fitter – Assembly and Build Role

Location Kidderminster

Salary: Negotiable DOE

A well-structured and growing company that develops, manufactures, sells, and maintains specialist vehicles is seeking an experienced Fitter to join the team at a production facility based in Kidderminster.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have some mechanical knowledge, preferably from the commercial vehicle, plant hire, or bodybuilding sectors. A willingness to learn and the ability to work to tight deadlines and customer specifications are essential. Experience with power tools, hydraulics, electrics, and MIG welding (desirable but not essential) is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Production Manager and Foreman in delivering high-quality build standards
  • Read and interpret build pack drawings to carry out work accordingly
  • Use power tools, hydraulic systems, and electrical components effectively
  • Perform MIG welding (desirable skill)
  • Work efficiently to meet production deadlines
  • Identify and document any changes during the build process
  • Capture and record information to improve future builds
  • Support subcontractors (e.g., camera, weigh systems, and other ancillary installations) while on site
  • Coordinate with the team to ensure timely scheduling of subcontractor appointments
  • Complete all relevant paperwork accurately
  • Assist in preparations for inspections and testing
  • Undertake additional duties as required in line with operational needs
