Job description

£34,167 - £39,411 per annum, Sheffield, Permanent position, Day and night shifts, Monday - Thursday, 4-day working week, 33 days annual leave plus stats, 5% pension contribution, free parking, on-site canteen facilities, and premium paid overtime.

We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join a world-class engineering facility in Sheffield due to increased orders. The role reports to the Machine Supervisor, and responsibilities include:

• Setting and operating Vertical Lathe X and Z axis machines.
• Using overhead cranes to load and unload machinery.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Using measuring tools such as verniers and callipers to identify defects.
• Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards through daily housekeeping.

The ideal candidate will:

• Work with required tolerances.
• Be willing to work overtime when needed.
• Have a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Adhere to company housekeeping rules.
• Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe.

This position is suitable for candidates with experience as a Manual Machinist, Machinist, Manual Turner, Vertical Lathe Operator, Lathe Operator, or Setter Operator in manufacturing, production, castings, or engineering environments.
