Manual Machinist / Lathe Machinist / Mill Machinist required to join a precision valve and flow control equipment repair and machining facility in Edmonton, AB.
The Manual Machinist/ Lathe Machinist / Mill Machinist will work on high-spec pressure-retaining components, applying advanced manual machining skills across turning, milling, drilling, and threading operations. This is a full-cycle, hands-on role, ideal for a highly experienced machinist who can inspect, repair, and fabricate complex components to tight tolerances. Work will involve valve bodies, stems, bonnets, actuator housings, and other critical parts used in demanding oil and gas applications.

Manual Machinist / Lathe Machinist / Mill Machinist Role
• Perform turning operations using conventional horizontal lathes and vertical lathes for pressure control components
• Conduct milling tasks, including surface finishing, slotting, and profiling, using manual milling machines
• Operate radial-arm drills for high-precision hole-making, reaming, and boring
• Carry out general manual machining and fabrication processes including prep, fitting, surfacing, and inspection
• Perform dimensional checks using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators
• Assist with flame spray, hand grinding, or weld prep as needed for part restoration
• Cast and machine babbitt-lined components where required
• Interpret blueprints and part drawings to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Support final inspection and non-destructive testing prep as part of the rebuild process
• Maintain a clean and safety-compliant work environment in line with facility standards
Manual Machinist / Lathe Machinist / Mill Machinist Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5–10 years of hands-on manual machining experience in a high-spec or industrial environment
• Strong proficiency in turning, milling, threading, and drilling
• Ability to interpret blueprints and detailed technical drawings
• Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision tools
• Capable of holding tolerances down to 0.0005"
• Familiarity with babbitt casting, removal, or machining (preferred)
• Experience working with vertical lathes and radial-arm drill rigs (preferred)
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to pass a background check and drug screening
