Job summary

Interaction Engineering in Peterborough is seeking an experienced CNC Miller / Manual Machinist to join our established engineering and automation team. You will set and operate CNC milling machines, perform manual milling, and interpret detailed drawings to produce one-off and small-batch components.

You should be proficient with Colchester or similar machinery, have a solid understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and tolerances, and be able to work independently to deliver high-quality

CNC Miller / Manual Machinist

Location: Peterborough
Job Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller / Manual Machinist to join an established engineering and automation business based in Peterborough.

This is a varied role suited to a skilled machinist with strong experience across both CNC and conventional machining, producing components for specialist automation and engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC milling machinery
• Manual milling and machining using Colchester and similar machinery
• Working from detailed engineering drawings
• Producing one-off and small-batch components
• Selecting tooling and setting feeds and speeds
• Working to tight tolerances
• Inspecting finished components
• Troubleshooting machining issues and making adjustments

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong CNC milling experience
• Proven manual machining experience
• Experience with Colchester or similar machinery
• Ability to read engineering drawings
• Good knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds and tolerances
• A strong mechanical and practical engineering background
• Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work
