Job summary

Staffline in Gloucester is recruiting a Manual Machinist for a permanent role. You will operate conventional machines and a horizontal boring machine, setting up toolroom measuring equipment and ensuring tools are ready for tasks.

A time-served toolmaker or equivalent qualification is required, with the ability to work with tight tolerances. You will join a proactive team and may train in other disciplines as needed.

Qualifications

• Time served toolmaker or equivalent qualifications are required.
• Experience operating conventional turning/milling equipment.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and within tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional machines and a horizontal boring machine.
• Set up and use toolroom measuring equipment accurately.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to carry out tasks and repairs.
• As part of a proactive team, train in other disciplines when required.

Position:Manual Machinist

Type of role:permanent

Hours of work:Monday to Thursday 7:45-16:00 and Fridays 7:45-15:0 inclusive. You're entitled to a half an hour lunch break between the hours of 12-12:30

Salary:£35,000 to £39,700 per annum

Location:Gloucester

We are now seeking to recruit a manual machinist for a manufacturing business based in Gloucester. The appropriate manual machinist would be responsible for operating conventional machines and horizonal boring machine.

The responsibility of toolmaker:

• Operating conventual machines
• Setting and operating of all Toolroom measuring equipment.
• To ensure the correct tools and equipment are available to carry out the tasks and repairs
• Be a proactive and flexible team member, training in other disciplines where required.

Requirements of a toolmaker:

• Time served toolmaker or equivalent qualifications i.e., City and Guilds, NVQ level 3, HNC etc.
• Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities to proactively work with and professional people and to interact effectively with individuals and groups both internal and external to the company and at all organizational levels.
• Manual turning or milling experience
• Must be able to work to tight tolerances
