A leading engineering firm in Bedford is seeking an experienced machinist to operate lathe and milling machines and perform welding tasks. The role involves fabricating parts for various applications, ensuring quality standards and health & safety compliance. Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, the machinist will be expected to be flexible and multi skilled in various metalwork techniques. This role will involve supporting all departments throughout the site. Primarily responsible for operation of the lathe and milling machine, alongside some welding / fabricating of various items using MIG and TIG welding plants. It is expected that all work enters and leaves within agreed times and is of the highest quality, whist maintaining H&S standards at all times.
