Overview

The manual handling team is a busy, friendly department. Our ethos is to support each other and colleagues across the Trust in developing expertise and best practice. We have regular team meetings and peer support. We embrace change and encourage every member to have a voice in our continuing development. Our main focus is to provide the best quality training to staff across the NCA.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Deliver manual handling training courses to staff across the NCA, including people and inanimate load training, demonstrated through techniques and the use of patient handling equipment during practical training sessions.
  • Liaise with the manual handling specialist on attendees’ performance, maintain accurate training records, and address any issues arising in the training room.
  • Work with the Manual Handling Specialist to ensure safe manual handling practice throughout the organisation and promote musculoskeletal health.
Requirements
  • This is a full-time, permanent post. Applicants must have a current driving licence and access to a vehicle on a daily basis is essential.
  • Previous applicants need not apply.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and a desire to teach are essential for this post.
