Job summary

• Conduct visual inspections on machined components.

Overview

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting for Manual Centre Lathe & CNC Lathe turners for permanent positions based with our client in Sheffield. Immediate start available (subject to interview process).

Salary

Rates of pay are:

• £19.49 per hour on Days (Monday - Thursday - 6AM - 4PM)
• £22.20 per hour on Nights (Monday - Thursday - 8PM - 6AM)

Responsibilities

• Ideally have experience programming Fanuc Series OI-TD controlled lathes.
• Data collection i.e., recording of measurements before and after machining.
• Visual inspection on machined components.
• Experience using overhead cranes (Advantageous)
• Understanding quality issues.
• Familiarity with modern management techniques such as TPM and 5s.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in turning working in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate these into producing dimensionally correct component profiles using a manual or CNC lathe.
• Programming Fanuc Series OI-TD controlled lathes, not essential but would be an advantage.
• MUST be able to work to tolerance and accurately using Micrometres/Callipers/Bore Comparators, wall and surf gauges.
• MUST have high attention to detail.
