Job summary

Dorset HealthCare is seeking a Mandatory trainer/Clinical Educator to design, deliver and evaluate a programme of mandatory training across inpatient services in Dorset. The post holder will develop clinically relevant education aligned with national and trust objectives to enable high-quality patient-centred care.

The role requires a strong clinical background, outstanding communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Registered practitioner to degree/diploma level supplemented by diploma level.
  • Ability to demonstrate and highlight benefits to end users
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience of managing change
  • Demonstrable competency in a suite of clinical nursing skills
  • Experience of working in a project environment
  • Knowledge of project deployment
  • Must have a car and driving licence
  • Confident in the use of Microsoft Office Products

  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to junior staff
  • Proven Team working
  • Staff management / supervision experience, able to communicate effectively at different levels of an organisation in both verbal and written form, for example with staff, patients, visitors, or external organisations in the exchange of very highly complex, sensitive, or contentious information, which will require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills
  • Able to overcome barriers to understanding where there are physical or mental disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse situations and provide a resolution
  • Willingness to advance own clinical knowledge, skills and competence based on current evidence

Job description

Dorset Health Care University Trust are looking to recruit a Mandatory trainer/Clinical Educator to work to support of our Inpatient services across Dorset. The post holder will be responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of a programme of mandatory training and clinically relevant practice education to support the professional development of the organisation. The appointed individual will have a specific focus on enabling the delivery of high-quality patient/person centred care that is grounded in evidence-based practice and underpinned by national, organisational and trust objectives, guidelines, and policies. The person we are looking for will have; a strong clinical background with recent clinical experience, excellent communication skills, ability to engage and influence at all levels, demonstrate a passion for education and act as a professional role model. We will provide appropriate support and opportunities for your continued development. Please note visa sponsorship for this role is unfortunately not available. Ensure you hold valid right to work in the UK and will not require sponsorship if successful. This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only.
