Job summary

Drnewitt is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Purchasing Manager to lead its procurement function in the UK. The role focuses on strategic purchasing, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive cost savings and ensure reliable product supply.

You will lead a purchasing team, negotiate with suppliers, and align procurement strategies with business growth. Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential, with extensive experience in food/FMCG procurement.

Qualifications

• Minimum seven years' purchasing or procurement experience.
• Previous senior purchasing or procurement leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Purchasing team with coaching and performance management.
• Create and implement procurement strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Manage end-to-end purchasing process including sourcing, supplier selection and contract negotiation.
• Build strong relationships with UK and international suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, payment terms and service levels.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Research market trends and source new products to support growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Technical and Finance.
• Manage purchasing budgets and deliver cost-saving initiatives.
• Support inventory optimisation and maintain product availability.
• Produce purchasing reports and recommendations for senior management.
