Job summary

People First Recruitment in Central London is seeking a Mandarin-speaking IT Systems Engineer for a permanent, office-based role. You will install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and VMware in line with evolving business needs, while supporting remote working environments.

You must configure Active Directory services (DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPOs), manage enterprise networks and storage, and uphold information security policies.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
• IT system engineering-related experience in the UK.
• Solid Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, VMware, and File Server experience.
• Strong TCP/IP and networking knowledge.
• Cisco switch/router/firewall and wireless configuration skills.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent technical degree preferred.
• Microsoft and Cisco certifications are preferable.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and VMware in line with evolving business needs.
• Oversee the operation and management of remote working systems.
• Configure Active Directory and related services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and GPOs.
• Manage enterprise network and storage servers.
• Assist the Department Head to ensure information security complies with policies.
• Implement, update, and monitor disaster recovery procedures.
• Assist with IT policies, procedures, and configuration guidelines annually.
• Coordinate with external service providers to support availability and reliability of network and systems.
• Train new team members and carry out ad-hoc tasks.

Job description

Salary: £36,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements:

• Fluent in Mandarin and English
• IT system engineering-related experience in the UK
• Extensive relevant experience in a professional environment
• Solid management experience of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, VMware software, and File Server
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking management
• Ability to configure Cisco Switch, Router, Firewall, and wireless devices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English
• Experience in problem solving and troubleshooting
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

• Communicate and coordinate with external service providers to support the availability, reliability, and scalability of the Comms room, dedicated circuits, Internet circuits, network, storage, PC server, and systems
• Assist the Department Head in managing and training new team members
• Take preventative measures to ensure smooth business operations
• Carry out other ad-hoc tasks as required by the line manager
