Job summary

People First Recruitment is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Finance Analyst for a London-based role focused on financial reporting and accounting. You will work closely with Accounting, Product Control, and Front Office teams to ensure IFRS-compliant reporting and accurate month-end close.

The role involves margin analysis across energy trading activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and support for year-end audits. Hybrid working with one day WFH; 1-year FTC with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Fluent Mandarin and English written and spoken.
• Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent.
• Experience in financial analysis or accounting, preferably in trading/energy.
• SAP proficiency; Excel with complex formulas; Power BI desirable.
• Knowledge of IT and ERP related month-end processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly trading margin results for energy businesses in IFRS contexts.
• Explain breaks between MI P&L and MA P&L; assess accounting judgments.
• Post and reconcile invoices in SAP with Settlements; resolve MI/MA differences.
• Prepare broker exchange reconciliations and liaise with Derivative operations.
• Compile monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support audits.
• Lead annual statutory reporting and statutory audit preparation.
• Contribute to IT projects to automate month-end reporting.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as required.
