Job Description:

This is a corporate banking role, where the team needs a specialist for the installation, support, and maintenance of network infrastructure and security framework. The role involves assisting the network and security manager in the administration and maintenance of the bank's IT networking equipment through the support of the network equipment and head office network.

Job Title: MANDARIN Network and Security Engineer

Location: London

Work style: Onsite office-based role

Salary: up to £75,000 per annum

Languages: Mandarin Chinese and English

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) to detect threats, investigate security alerts, logs, and incidents, and assist in incident response and remediation.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct vulnerability assessments, support penetration testing, and collaborate on patching systems.
• Network Access Control (NAC): Configure switches and endpoints for NAC, troubleshoot Cisco IP Phone/IPC services.
• Network Administration: Configure user switches, perform health checks, and provide after-hours support for emergencies.
• Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure adherence to security standards, coordinate network checks, liaise with IT teams, document processes, and communicate controls.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in IT support (network/security/IP telephony).
• Technical Skills: Experience with OSPF, BGP, STP, NAC, IPT (Cisco), network monitoring tools, NDR, SIEM, vulnerability assessment tools, and patch management.
• Soft Skills: Ability to work under pressure, strong communication, and collaboration skills.

Working Conditions: Flexibility for after-hours/weekend support during incidents.
