Job summary

Penguin Recruitment in Manchester is seeking a Town Planner to join a growing consultancy. You will gain exposure to a broad range of development projects across residential, strategic land, commercial and renewable energy sectors, with ownership of projects as you grow.

You will work with experienced planners and liaise with clients and authorities to support planning applications and policy work. The role offers hybrid working, a trajectory toward MRTPI or chartership, and a varied workload

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning or RTPI-accredited discipline.
• Understanding of the UK planning system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good research and analytical abilities.
• Proactive and commercially minded approach.
• Progress towards MRTPI or chartership or interest in achieving chartership.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and coordinating planning applications.
• Undertaking planning policy research and site appraisals.
• Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation.
• Providing planning advice to clients on development opportunities and constraints.
• Supporting residential, strategic land, commercial and renewable energy projects.
• Liaising with clients, local authorities and other consultants.
• Assisting with appeals, representations and other planning matters.
• Monitoring planning policy and emerging development opportunities.
• Building strong client relationships and contributing to business growth.
