Job summary

Gold Group is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor in Exeter to lead the commercial function across a growing portfolio of capital water projects, while managing an established team of Quantity Surveyors and helping to build the team as new work is secured.

You will report to the Commercial Manager and oversee procurement through final account, with NEC contracts administered correctly and strong relationships with South West Water.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or mentoring commercial teams.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
• Background in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing subcontractors and commercial reporting.
• Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Leading and mentoring a team of Quantity Surveyors.
• Recruiting, developing and growing the commercial team in line with an expanding workload.
• Providing commercial support across multiple live projects.
• Managing contract performance from procurement through to final account.
• Reviewing applications for payment, compensation events and subcontract accounts.
• Producing commercial reports, forecasts and CVRs.
• Managing risk, change and cost control across the framework.
• Building strong relationships with operational teams and South West Water.
• Ensuring NEC contracts are administered correctly and consistently.
