Managing Quantity Surveyor (@one Alliance)

Location: Peterborough

Contract Type: Full Time Permanent

The Vacancy

Binnies, an RSK Group company, is looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join us as part of our @one Alliance.

What will you be doing as our new Managing Quantity Surveyor (Project Commercial Manager)?

You will be accountable for the commercial and cost management of a project or programme of projects from inception to close-out, reporting directly to an Integrated Projects Leader (IPL). Your role will ensure maximum efficiencies are obtained and full compliance with all Alliance and Anglian Water governance procedures. You will provide commercial challenge to the IPL and team on all project matters.

Key responsibilities:

• Management of Commercials: Ensuring robust estimates aligned to scope, managing and supporting commercial and procurement strategies, and overseeing subcontract management.
• Robust Cost Management: Providing accurate live forecasting, monitoring actual costs against estimates, and reporting on variances.
• Contract Management: Proper administration of the Alliance contract, timely issuing of warnings, record-keeping, and final account preparation.
• Project and Programme Risk: Implementing mitigation plans, managing opportunities, monitoring efficiencies, and reporting variances.

You will also lead and manage a small team, mentoring and developing team members.

About you:

• Educated to degree level, holding RICS/CIOB/CICES certification preferred.
• Experience managing complex projects up to multi-million pounds.
• Experience with NEC contracts, negotiating, estimating, and stakeholder management skills.
• High integrity, ability to manage change, challenge decisions, and work under pressure.
