Job summary

Our client, a leading company in the civil engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (QS)/Managing Quantity Surveyor (MQS) to join their dynamic team in Northampton.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all QS/MQS duties on highway projects
• Provide leadership and mentorship to a relatively young team to bridge experience gaps
• Ensure accurate and timely cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Conduct risk management and mitigation planning
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
• Manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders
• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project compliance
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards

Job Requirements:

• Substantial experience in quantity surveying, specifically within highway projects
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proficiency in cost management and financial reporting
• Excellent understanding of contract law and construction contracts
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally for projects
• Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
