Are you an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor with a background in Energy? Are you looking to work for a business that truly cares for its employees? Approach Personnel is thrilled to support a renowned Energy Contractor in sourcing an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor for their overhead lines packages. This role focuses on delivering holistic commercial solutions to a wide range of high-profile clients across the UK.

More about the Role:

This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our client's Nottingham office on a hybrid basis, with some site visits required.

  • Prepare detailed reports and claims within agreed deadlines
  • Support commercial systems and foster strong internal relationships
  • Monitor project risks while maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, assessments, and final account settlements
  • Identify and manage contract variations, delays, and claims
  • Drive improvements in commercial processes to boost efficiency
  • Collaborate closely with the Commercial Manager and QS team
  • Assist with financial reporting and cost recovery efforts
What we are looking for:
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills with solid financial awareness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 contracts, including Options A, C, and E
  • Experience in subcontract management, valuations, and cost/value reconciliation
  • Qualified Quantity Surveyor with a full, clean UK driving licence
  • Competence in planning, project management, and business analysis
  • Strategic thinker with strong presentation and influencing skills
  • Good understanding of the energy industry
  • Proven ability to lead projects through all phases of the lifecycle
