BAM Infrastructure is seeking an experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our team on a landmark civil engineering project — the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2). This role will be based at our Wren Hall site in Drax, Selby.
EGL2 is a five-year initiative that will see the construction of a 525kV, 2GW high-voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable, running from Peterhead, Scotland, to Drax, Selby, in England. Once complete, it will become the longest HVDC cable in the UK and the largest transmission project ever undertaken in the country, delivering enough renewable energy to power two million UK homes.

Your mission
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the following:
- Manage and mentor a commercial team across multiple schemes.
- Liaise closely with the operations team and support services to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Participate in project performance discussions and contribute commercial insight to strategic decision-making.
- Oversee commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring the timely delivery of: Monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs), Cash flow monitoring, Monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, Applications for payment, and Effective change management.
- Ensure compliance with internal commercial processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Work closely with clients and key stakeholders to identify and deliver optimal commercial solutions.
- Represent the company in commercial discussions, negotiations, and progress reviews.
- Ensure adherence to procurement and subcontractor management procedures.
- Provide input and commercial guidance during the pre-construction/tender phases of projects.
- Manage Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) projects or a portfolio of ECI projects from a commercial perspective, including review of contract documentation.
Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience of managing a team (ideally across multiple projects)
- Previous experience on civil engineering schemes
- Experience of NEC form of Contract
- Thorough understanding of contractual provisions with a view to be able to comment, review and draft documents.
