About The Role
The A66 project is currently in its development phase with a planned start to construction in 2025. We are seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to deliver our advanced work package. They will be expected to lead a small team and interact with the client. Responsibilities may also increase to assisting in the running of the development phase and procurement for the construction phase. The candidate may also become involved in preparing for the construction phase, which could include the implementation of commercial systems such as cost reporting, coding structures, and carbon reporting.
The A66 project is being managed by an enterprise consisting of Balfour Beatty, Kier, and Keltbray on behalf of our client, National Highways. A Managing Quantity Surveyor is a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor who manages all costs and income related to large building and civil engineering projects or multiple smaller projects, from initial calculations to final figures. They will have significant experience in minimizing project costs and enhancing value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Typically, they will have a track record of managing a commercial team, be a Chartered Member of RICS, ICES, or CIOB, and serve as a mentor to other commercial staff on their journey to becoming professionally qualified. They will also maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
