Job description

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Natural Resources Team working on our Thames Water framework. With the option to work from home, you'll also need to visit our sites and offices across the Thames Water area, focusing on a site in Little Marlow.

Working from home with travel to site at Little Marlow and across the Thames Valley

Permanent, Full Time - flexible and part-time hours may be available if desired, just let us know

Responsibilities

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll work within the Natural Resources team supporting them in managing the commercial aspects of our Thames Water Framework under an Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Burgundy Book contract. You'll play a pivotal role in overseeing commercial project management for multiple water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

  1. Managing and developing the commercial team, ensuring the use of commercial and administrative systems, budgets, and cost control procedures.
  2. Maximising cash flow through control, measurement, and valuation of work, invoicing customers, and paying suppliers.
  3. Producing accurate forecasts and budget information, ensuring contract deliverables and timescales are met.
  4. Valuing works, including variations, in accordance with the contract, and monitoring monthly CVR reviews, supporting the head of commercial.
  5. Negotiating contract terms with clients, contractors, and other relevant parties, ensuring terms are favourable, equitable, and aligned with project objectives and constraints.
What are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is ideal if:

  1. You have proven experience in a similar role or are ready to advance from a Senior position.
  2. You have strong knowledge of the IChemE Burgundy Book, with experience in water/wastewater projects preferred.
  3. You have experience with standard contract forms and cost control processes, capable of reviewing, commenting on, and drafting documents.
