Lead Commercial Success in Highways – Join Kier as a Managing Quantity Surveyor

We're looking for an experienced andmotivated Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a team of Quantity Surveyors in ensuring the effective commercial delivery of our contract operations. You'll also be responsible for delivering robust financial results, but by fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment and maintaining strong client relationships.

Location: Picketts Lock Lane & Wraysbury (limited remote working will be considered to suit individual cases). On occasion attendance at our Southwark office maybe required.

Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 per year + £6.7k annual car allowance + private healthcare + benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of month-end processes, oversee contract financial performance, and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors. You'll act as the key commercial contact for clients and senior leadership, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and resolution of commercial matters.

Your day to day will include:

  • Leading and managing a team of Quantity Surveyors to ensure effective commercial delivery across the contract
  • Overseeing month-end processes, including cost and value reporting, and presenting key commercial information to senior management
  • Maintaining and developing strong, collaborative relationships with clients, attending commercial and contract board meetings
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor payments, applications for payment, and ensuring timely issue resolution
  • Analysing contract data and documentation to drive performance improvements and support strategic decision-making

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor who brings strong commercial acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a collaborative mindset.:

  • Has an HNC/HND/BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or related discipline
  • Experience in highways or infrastructure projects in a commercial capacity
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts, subcontractor management, and CVR processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with commercial systems
