Salary: £420/£450/day
We are a leading Tier 1 contractor known for delivering high-profile projects with a focus on quality, innovation, and sustainability. As part of our ongoing growth and commitment to excellence, we are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of the TfL STIC Framework and other key projects.

Role Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage the commercial aspects of projects within our portfolio.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in managing change events, Early Warning Notices (EWNs), tendering, and overseeing quantity surveying functions, particularly within frameworks. You will have a proven track record of managing commercial teams, self-delivering projects, and successfully handling subcontractors in accordance with NEC4 Option A contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Management of Change Events & EWNs: Oversee and manage change events and Early Warning Notices (EWNs) throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective risk mitigation and compliance with contractual obligations.
  2. Tendering: Lead the tendering process, ensuring that all commercial aspects of the tender submissions are compliant, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.
  3. Managing Qs for the TfL STIC Framework: Manage the quantity surveying function for the TfL STIC Framework, ensuring accurate cost estimation, reporting, and compliance with the framework’s terms and conditions.
  4. Commercial Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, ensuring their professional development and that commercial objectives are met.
  5. NEC4 Option A Contract Management: Demonstrate thorough knowledge and practical application of NEC4 Option A contracts, ensuring all projects comply with the agreed terms, conditions, and financial targets.
  6. Self-Delivery of Projects: Oversee the self-delivery of projects, managing all financial and commercial aspects to ensure projects are delivered within budget, on time, and to the highest standards.
  7. Subcontract Management: Manage subcontractor relationships and performance, ensuring that subcontractors deliver in line with agreed terms and provide necessary documentation for progress payments.
  8. Framework Experience: Experience working within frameworks, specifically managing multiple projects under one contract, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all projects.
  9. CVR Management: Take ownership of the Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) process, ensuring that financial forecasting and reporting are accurate and up to date.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in commercial management within the construction industry.
  2. Extensive experience with NEC4 Option A contracts and their practical application.
  3. Experience in managing change events and Early Warning Notices (EWNs) to ensure smooth project execution.
  4. Experience in leading and developing a commercial team, driving high standards and achieving key commercial objectives.
  5. Hands-on experience in self-delivery of projects, ensuring all commercial elements are managed effectively.
  6. Strong background in managing subcontractors and ensuring project compliance.
  7. Previous experience working on frameworks, especially in the public sector, such as Transport for London (TfL), is highly desirable.
  8. Experience in managing the Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) process and project financials.
