As a leader in high-end construction, heritage conservation and specialist crafts in London and the South of England, we take pride in working on Britain's finest private residences, luxury hotels and most cherished historic architecture. We believe our people are our greatest asset, as it's their dedication to excellence that has been the foundation for our outstanding reputation.

As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll lead the commercial management of multiple high-end residential building projects. You'll oversee financial performance, procurement, valuations, variations and subcontractor management, while leading the surveying team and ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the highest commercial standards.

Just some of the responsibilities we’ll trust you with:
  • You'll oversee the commercial performance of multiple projects, identifying risks and recommending corrective action.
  • You'll prepare and present CVRs, cash flow forecasts, valuations, final accounts and monthly cost reports.
  • You'll manage variations, ensuring they are recorded, priced and agreed promptly with clients and subcontractors.
  • You'll lead procurement activities, including tendering, commercial negotiations, subcontract orders and financial checks.
  • You'll manage and develop the surveying team through regular reviews, mentoring and performance management.
  • You'll work closely with clients, architects, Quantity Surveyors, subcontractors and internal project teams.
Where you'll be based

You'll be part of our Central Region where high-end country projects from £500k to £100m are delivered by teams aligned to the scale and complexity of each build. Our portfolio for the region spans listed buildings, major refurbishments, contemporary new builds, sporting estates, boutique hotels, and substantial private residences.

You'll be based at Grosvenor House in Basing View - a modern, spacious office with an onsite gym, roof terrace, and cafe. Whether you drive, cycle, or take the train, the location is well connected with free parking, secure bike storage, and just a five-minute walk from Basingstoke station.

Some of the rewards of working with us:
  • Grow your skills and your career with access to full training and development programmes designed to help you reach your full potential.
  • Be part of an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected, valued, and encouraged to share ideas and make a real impact.

  • Earn more time off with a holiday allowance that increases with your length of service - plus all bank holidays.
  • Save on everyday essentials with exclusive discounts at leading retailers and supermarkets.
  • Get 24/7 support through our Employee Assistance Programme, offering expert advice, counselling, and practical help whenever you need it.
  • Enjoy a restful holiday break-we close during the Christmas period, giving you the chance to relax over the festive season
  • We prioritise your wellbeing with our healthcare programmes, annual flu vaccines, and for those who will benefit, a personalised menopause plan.
The areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
  • You'll hold an HNC in Construction or a relevant degree-level qualification.
  • You'll have strong commercial experience within private residential construction and refurbishment projects.
  • You'll understand traditional building methods used on listed buildings and high-end period properties.
  • You'll have detailed knowledge of valuations, variations, final accounts, procurement, CVRs and cash flow forecasting.
  • You'll bring strong numerical, financial management and Excel skills.
  • You'll be an effective leader and communicator, confident working with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project teams.
