Bloomberg Media seeks a managing editor to lead and expand our global lifestyle and culture coverage. The ideal candidate is an experienced journalist and an inspiring leader, fluent in digital and print media, with a deep understanding of Bloomberg’s audience, a passion for innovative lifestyle and culture journalism, and a broad editorial sensibility.

The role involves leading a global team of editors and writers, overseeing editorial strategy and operations for Pursuits across platforms, and collaborating on launching new features and products.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading the Pursuits team—hiring, managing, coaching staff, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture
2. Maintaining high standards for the quality and distinctiveness of Bloomberg’s global lifestyle and culture coverage, including travel, food, wellness, arts, and entertainment
3. Collaborating with the Weekend and Explains teams on coverage ideas and service journalism
4. Working closely with Businessweek editors and art directors to produce high-quality magazine content
5. Assigning, editing, and shaping stories from across the newsroom
6. Launching new editorial products across platforms, including audio, video, and events

Qualifications include:

• 10+ years of magazine/news experience with digital and print expertise
• A clear vision and sharp editorial judgment, with a passion for diverse cultural and lifestyle topics
• Understanding of global business readers' interests and needs
• Proven collaboration skills across media, product, and commercial teams
• Strong grasp of audience analytics and digital subscription ecosystems
• Experience in editing magazine features
• Entrepreneurial spirit, flexibility, and creativity
• Excellent team management and communication skills

Preferred qualifications include international experience and managing globally distributed teams.
