Job summary

BDO UK is seeking a Managing Director in its M&A team to lead origination and execution of sell-side and buy-side corporate finance advisory engagements. You will manage a team, develop relationships with owners and private equity houses, and drive successful closes across private and public companies.

You will leverage extensive corporate finance experience to deliver value for clients, partnering with Partners to originate mandates and guide teams through complex transactions.

Qualifications

• Extensive direct experience of sell-side and/or buy-side corporate finance advisory activities; led projects to close.
• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or relevant work experience.
• Strong project management skills across several projects, ability to handle pressurised situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with a background of growing and developing business.
• Previous staff supervision or management experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory regimes for plc activities.

As a Managing Director in our M&A team you'll manage a team and the delivery of projects on a day-to-day basis. You'll generate business utilising external and internal relationships in your sector/region to lead on the origination and conversion of target relationships into engaged mandates alongside Partners. You'll leverage a strong understanding of, and experience in, the field of corporate finance for both buy-side and sell-side work, involving private and public companies, owner-managed businesses and private equity houses.

Requirements

• Extensive direct experience of sell-side and/or buy-side corporate finance advisory activities. Your experience will include having led projects to a successful close and will have involved working with private companies, owner-managed businesses and private equity houses
• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), or relevant work experience.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to work across several projects and occasionally handle pressurised situations
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong commercial awareness with a background of growing and developing business
• Previous staff supervision or management experience
• For those involved in plc activities, a developing knowledge of relevant regulatory regimes.
