JOB TITLE: Managing Director, Head of Commercial Real Estate
LOCATION(S):London
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN:Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office.

About This Opportunity

We're seeking a dynamic leader to join our Commercial Real Estate Syndicate team. This role is pivotal in driving our revenue and risk objectives, originating and structuring CRE loans, and developing innovative distribution channels and products.

Your role and accountabilities will include:

  • Leading the team to deliver revenue and risk objectives.
  • Collaborating with the CRE Sector Coverage to originate and structure CRE loans for underwriting, bridging, or coordinated sell-down.
  • Developing new primary distribution channels and products to enhance capital velocity and client relevance.
  • Supporting the CRE Coverage team in running strategic client relationships and securing appropriate mandates.
  • Coordinating global relationships with loan investors across banks, public, and private markets.
  • Leading market risk of underwritten and bridged transactions, ensuring successful distribution or take-out in line with sanctioned strategy.

What we need from you?

  • Expert-level understanding of CRE structuring and financing, focusing on loan products including senior debt, mezzanine, whole loans, and back leverage.
  • Experience with bond financing, securitisations, co-investment partnerships, loan on loan and back leverage products would be an advantage.
  • Strong and established relationships with a broad range of potential investors and banks.
  • Outstanding track record of delivering successful syndication strategies.
  • Strategic insight into future CRE market evolution, including the development of private credit markets and new product opportunities.
  • Capability to lead a high-profile and high-performing team in client-focused transactional situations and strategic decision-making.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks

This role has been identified as a Client-dealing function under SYSC 27.8.18R as defined in the FCA Handbook

The Person(“P”) performs the client-dealing FCA certification function for a firm if:(1)P is carrying out any of the activities in the table in SYSC 27.8.19R; and(2)those activities will involve P dealing with:(a) a person with or for whom those activities are carried out; or(b) the property of any such person;in a manner substantially connected with the carrying on of regulated activities by the firm.

This role has been identified as Manager of certification employees under SYSC 27.8.13R as defined in the FCA Handbook(1) The function of managing or supervising a certification employee, directly or indirectly, is an FCA-specified significant-harm function.(2) A function in (1) is not an FCA certification function for that firm if it is performed by an SMF manager of that firm.
