This global leadership role encompasses strategic business development, client relationship management, and thought leadership within the public sector. The individual will be responsible for the following:
- Attract, develop and retain top, diverse Public Sector banking talent. Foster mentorship and talent management globally for all bankers and CCOs covering PS.
- Develop and execute a client-driven franchise growth strategy that drives sustainable and profitable growth and maintains and extends leadership wallet share position (top #3).
- Lead team in analyzing market trends to identify growth opportunities and co-develop PS segment-specific solutions with key product areas and industry groups (e.g., Markets solutions JV, Defense Financing solutions).
- Drive thought leadership and engage in policy development for key themes important to PS clients. Represent Citi and increase brand visibility at global events.
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of PS segment growth strategies with global and regional partners (product, banking, franchise, client, risk, compliance, legal, GGA, etc.).
- Build senior trusted advisor relationships with key clients and countries, meeting 3–4 times a year.
- Partner with CCOs/International Cluster heads to achieve Trusted Advisor status to support growth plans.
- Ensure efficient capital allocation and targeted returns, collaborating with GCM and Risk.
- Maintain ethical conduct and transparency, managing risk and control issues, including franchise risk in PS transactions.
- Adopt a strategic mindset on connecting PS with other industry groups and ensure success for clients and the franchise/countries served. Contribute to governance forums and strategic planning.
- Develop, originate, and execute strategy across all PS clients, working with IB industry groups on strategic transactions.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Senior-level client interaction and relevant product experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking products with a corporate finance mindset.
- Proven deal origination and structuring success.
- Consistent achievement of revenue and budget targets.
- Strong credit skills, especially sovereign credits.
- Deep understanding of emerging markets' geographic, political, macroeconomic, and cultural aspects, including US government agencies.
- Knowledge of development finance and MDBs (World Bank, ADB, etc.).

Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in financial services with large, complex clients.
- People management experience, including in large multi-team systems.
- 10+ years of corporate finance and credit experience; SCO preferred.
- Deep knowledge of banking products: loans, debts, capital management, cash management, trade, structured finance, DCM, derivatives, advisory, equity.
- Ability to balance internal management with external client engagement.
- Understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Leadership and strategic thinking skills to create momentum and execute plans.
- Interest and leadership in public sector issues and future organizational changes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with pragmatic resource management.
- FINRA licenses (SIE, S79, S63, S24) if based in the US.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's/MBA preferred from top programs.
