The company’s product range supports sustainable ways of working, with strong alignment to the clean tech sector. Backed by an established private ownership group with a portfolio of complementary businesses at different stages of maturity, the company is now entering its next phase of growth and professionalisation.

The Opportunity

This appointment will suit a commercially focused leader who can combine hands-on sales expertise with strategic leadership. You will have full Managing Director responsibility for the company’s performance, culture, and long-term direction, with around 70 percent of your focus in the first two years on sales; driving growth, customer development, and commercial expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the company strategically and operationally, ensuring sustainable growth and financial performance
  • Own and deliver the sales and growth strategy, identifying new markets and building commercial partnerships
  • Manage and grow key customer and supplier relationships
  • Strengthen the leadership team and build capability across sales, operations, and support functions
  • Oversee P&L, budgets, and governance to ensure sound financial control
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the business
  • Report directly to the ownership group and contribute to wider group discussions and initiatives
  • Represent the company externally with customers, suppliers, and industry bodies
About You
  • Proven track record leading and growing sales-focused SMEs or divisions in technical, industrial, or equipment sectors
  • Experience in clean tech, sustainable products, or environmentally aligned markets will be highly advantageous
  • Commercially driven and financially literate with a strong understanding of P&L and business planning
  • Confident leading teams, setting strategy, and operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
  • Strong communicator with credibility across customers, partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with energy, resilience, and a focus on results
Package
  • £100,000 to £125,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus and executive benefits package
  • Car allowance and long-term incentive potential

This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a successful SME that is poised for its next stage of growth.
