Our client is an a prominent and rapidly expanding group with a diverse portfolio of successful businesses. The infrastructure and utilities division plays a critical role in providing essential services and developing vital infrastructure across the country. Due to a combination of internal promotions and new contract awards they are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Managing Director to lead one of our key infrastructure and utilities businesses. This is a unique opportunity to take the helm of a well-established company, leveraging the significant resources and support of a larger, diversified group.

This may suit an experienced Operations Leader looking to move to an MD role.

The Opportunity:

As Managing Director, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational performance, and financial success of our infrastructure/utilities company. You will lead a dedicated team, foster a culture of high performance, and identify new opportunities for growth and expansion within the sector. This role offers significant autonomy while benefiting from the strength and collaborative spirit of our broader group.

The Role

• Develop and execute the strategic plan to achieve business objectives and drive sustainable growth.

• Manage financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansions.

• Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, regulators, and group executives.

The Person

• Significant senior leadership experience (ideally at Managing Director or equivalent level) within the infrastructure or utilities sector.

• Demonstrable track record of delivering strong financial results and driving business growth.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

• Strong commercial acumen and understanding of market dynamics.

• Experience operating within a larger group structure is highly desirable.
