We’re Hiring: Managing Director ( Business Software)

This is an opportunity for a Managing Director with leadership experience and operational expertise to step into a role with a UK headquartered within a global software group and take full ownership of a major product line.

This senior leadership position carries end-to-end accountability for strategy, profitability, growth, and transformation.

The Role

The role requires operationally strong leaders with deep experience in software businesses combined with strategic vision and hands-on execution skills, who are ready to take end-to –end responsibility for growing a company.

You will work closely with executive leadership but operate independently with the autonomy to shape the business. This role is especially suited to individuals with prior experience running software companies in a standalone or platform model, particularly in the €5M–€10M recurring revenue range

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive the Product Line strategy, aligned with long-term growth objectives.
• Manage full P&L ownership, ensuring sustainable business performance.
• Lead a cross-functional leadership team, aligning product, services, commercial, and operational functions.
• Shape and execute Go-To-Market and product strategies in close collaboration with executive stakeholders.
• Champion customer and employee experience, driving improvements in engagement and satisfaction.
• Represent and advocate for the product line within a global matrix organization.
• Lead transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency, growth, and long-term value creation.

Candidate Profile

• Proven track record in business software leadership, ideally with SaaS or cloud-based products.
• Experience with P&L responsibility and leadership of a business unit or product line.
• Background at VP-level or higher within international and matrixed organizations.
• Strong capability in leading change and transformation with measurable results.
• Ability to balance commercial and technical aspects of software solutions.

Preferred:

• First-hand experience scaling vertical or niche software businesses
• Exposure to sales or go-to-market functions.
• Skilled at influencing across functions and thriving in performance-driven, decentralized environments.
• A desire to take full accountability for a business and build for the long term
