The Role

Due to increased demand for our corporate GHG accounting, reporting, and emissions reduction services, we are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced individual to join our climate change consultancy team.

The successful candidate will support ERM’s clients on challenges related to energy and climate change, including:

  • Accounting for greenhouse gas emissions (scopes 1, 2, and 3)
  • Reducing emissions through targets, renewable energy, energy efficiency, new technologies, carbon offsets, and removals
  • Scope 3 value chain emissions and SBTi targets
  • Reporting in sustainability reports and CDP disclosures
  • GHG and climate risk assessments for projects
  • Low carbon transition risk assessments aligned with TCFD

Our role is to help clients achieve sustainability goals and manage related risks and opportunities. The team collaborates with other ERM practice areas, providing services such as sustainability strategy, impact assessments, due diligence, performance management, and risk management.

Role and Key Responsibilities

As a Net Zero Managing Consultant, you will assist organizations in achieving net-zero emissions by providing strategic guidance, technical expertise, and innovative solutions. Projects include Net Zero strategy, GHG inventories, and decarbonization strategies. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing client projects, acting as the main contact and coordinator
  • Analyzing carbon emissions, setting targets (SBTi), developing reduction roadmaps, and implementing strategies
  • Ensuring outputs meet assessment and disclosure needs
  • Preparing reports, workshop materials, presentations, and technical summaries
  • Leading proposal development with teams across sectors

Core Skills

Technical Knowledge
  • Relevant degree or 5+ years’ experience in environmental consulting or related fields
  • Sector experience and knowledge of high-impact industries preferred
  • Expertise in GHG accounting/reporting principles and schemes (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi)
  • Ability to identify suitable methodologies and articulate their benefits
  • Understanding of climate legislation, management systems, MACC analysis, and energy-climate links
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (advanced skills)
  • Experience with data visualization tools is an advantage
  • Project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects
  • Numerical proficiency with large datasets
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills
