Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced Managing Associate to join our Tech, IP & Data team in London, Manchester, Bristol or Birmingham. This role will support clients across the public sector, handling technology projects and advice related to tech procurement and outsourcing.

We will invest in your success, managing your projects with partner oversight as needed. You will work with notable clients, becoming a public sector tech specialist, and receive bespoke training to develop your technical, commercial, and management skills.

Your Role
  • Work within a technology and commercial team on high-value, strategic public procurements and contracts.
  • Provide advice on technology projects, including framework agreements, collaborations, software purchases, digital transformation, cloud migration, and outsourcing.
  • Supervise, manage, and mentor junior team members.
  • Participate in business development, including pitches, tenders, training, and client relationships.
  • Work on-site with clients as required, with options for virtual and in-person secondments.
Your Skills and Experience

We seek talented individuals with technical excellence, teamwork, and client service passion. You should have:

  • Experience advising and leading technology transactions and procurements for public sector clients.
  • At least 6 years of post-qualified experience within a Technology, Commercial, or Public Procurement team at a law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Motivation to lead complex, strategic client work with partner support.
  • Exceptional contract negotiation, drafting, and advising skills.
  • A client-focused approach and ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Ambition to succeed as a key senior team member and develop the firm’s offerings locally and nationally.
Your Team

Our evolving technology market benefits from advice on development, licensing, ICT procurement, outsourcing, cloud services, e-commerce, social media, and data privacy. We work with startups, university spin-outs, and major international manufacturers, serving public sector clients across various government and educational sectors.
