Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced Managing Associate to join our Tech, IP & Data team in London, Manchester, Bristol or Birmingham. This role will form a crucial part of our team, supporting clients principally across the public sector, handling a range of technology projects and advice relating to tech procurement and outsourcing.

Through our national service lines, you will work with notable clients and become a public sector tech specialist. You will receive bespoke training, ensuring you have the technical, commercial, and management skills to build an effective and successful practice.

Your Role

• Work as part of a wider technology and commercial team on high-value, strategic public procurements, and contracts
• Provide non-contentious advice on a wide range of technology projects, including framework agreements, collaborations, software purchases, digital transformation projects, cloud migration, and outsourcing
• Supervise, manage, and mentor more junior team members
• Participate in business development activities, including preparing pitches and tenders, providing training, and building client relationships
• Work on-site with clients where required, with options for virtual and in-person secondments

Your Skills and Experience

• Proven track record advising and leading technology transactions and procurements for public sector clients
• At least 6 years of post-qualified experience within a Technology, Commercial, or Public Procurement team at a law firm or relevant in-house legal team
• Motivated self-starter with ambitions to lead complex, strategic client work (with Partner support)
• Outstanding technical ability in negotiating, drafting, and advising on complex contracts
• Ability to nurture long-standing client relationships
• Drive and ambition to succeed and develop the firm's offerings locally and nationally
