Job Description:

We are recruiting for an experienced Planning lawyer to join our national Future Energy, Planning & Environment team at Managing Associate/Legal Director level. This role can be based in any UK office with flexible working arrangements.

Your Role

As a key team member, you will:

• Lead advising on planning issues, applications, and appeals, especially in transport and renewable energy sectors.
• Advise on nationally significant infrastructure projects.
• Handle consenting aspects of offshore wind projects.
• Collaborate with other offices and teams.
• Support supervision and management of junior staff.
• Engage in business development and client relationship nurturing.
• Participate in the expansion of the DCO practice.
• Join Planning Know-How sessions on a rota basis.

Your Skills and Experience

We seek:

• A qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered) with 7+ years PQE.
• Experience with Development Consent Orders and NSIP advising.
• Experience with public and private sector clients, understanding local authority governance is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, self-motivated, capable of managing deadlines.
• Commercial awareness and business development experience.
• Client-focused, understanding business needs, and capable of fostering relationships.
• Team-oriented with a desire to mentor juniors.

Our Planning team covers a broad range of issues, working with local authorities, developers, and consultancies.
