Job Description:

Manager – Year End Accounts Team

Manchester City Centre

Are you an experienced Accounts Senior ready to step away from the day-to-day accounts production and take on a more strategic, leadership-focused role?

We’re looking for an ambitious individual to oversee a high performing year end accounts team; alongside driving the growth and direction of the department.

You will work closely with the Directors and Senior Management Team on shaping the growth of the team, making this a brilliant opportunity to broaden your experience at a senior level, and get in at ‘just the right time’ as the firm goes through its next phase of growth.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of 5 year end accountants
  • Contributing to strategic decisions that guide the department’s growth
  • Collaborating closely with directors on key projects and initiatives
  • Shifting focus from routine accounts prep to leadership, planning, and innovation
  • Allocating work and reviewing completed work from the team
  • Operating as a sound board for the more complex queries
  • Recruiting additional staff to facilitate growth

About You:

  • Ideally ACA / ACCA qualified (non-qualified and QBE’s are being considered)
  • Must have previous experience in practice
  • Keen to step into a leadership and management role
  • You might be from a contractor accounting background ready for a broader remit, or already working across a diverse client base
  • Passionate about mentoring, driving change, and playing a strategic role in a growing firm

What’s in It for You?

  • Up to 17% annual bonus
  • Flexible & hybrid working
  • Extended holidays for better work-life balance
  • Modern, spacious offices
  • A genuinely supportive senior leadership team
  • Unmatched exposure and career development opportunities as the firm expands
