DESCRIPTION

The Manager, UK Public Policy, will be a key member of the UK Public Policy Team. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing strategies to ensure Amazon's perspectives on issues such as competition and technology policy are effectively communicated to decision-makers and influencers. You will develop creative ways to articulate complex policy issues to diverse audiences, engaging with senior policymakers, regulators, think tanks, academics, and civil society leaders. Building collaborative partnerships with industry, trade associations, and third-party groups will be essential to support advocacy campaigns. Additionally, you will work with business, policy, and communications teams to highlight Amazon's economic impact in the UK, including supporting over 100,000 UK small and medium-sized businesses selling through Amazon.

This role is based in London, with some travel within the UK and internationally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS degree required
  • Significant experience in public policy and advocacy, ideally within government, regulators, institutions, private sector, trade associations, or NGOs
  • Strong understanding of policymaking processes and government relations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable engaging at high levels of corporate and political spheres
  • Experience with competition or digital regulation issues, such as working in regulated industries, the tech sector, or legislative processes
  • Proven ability to craft clear, persuasive written messages on complex policy topics
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and political acumen skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and produce results under ambiguity
  • Experience collaborating across diverse teams and cultures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
