Role Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and executing all aspects of nominated category procurement and supplier development in the UK and assigned regions. Manages daily SCM functions and activities to support sales and operations of restaurants, working collaboratively with Wendy’s DRSC and franchisees to ensure a robust, scalable, and reliable supply chain that leverages benefits for the Wendy’s system, driving sustainable competitive advantage.

Hybrid working arrangement – combination of office-based and work from home to be discussed during interview.

Procurement and Category Management

Supports sourcing, procurement, distribution, supplier selection, warehousing, and transportation in assigned categories/regions. Develops long-term category management plans aligned with global SCM strategies to meet supply chain objectives such as cost, quality, supply, innovation, and system efficiency. Aims to deliver cost improvements and productivity initiatives, maintaining in-depth knowledge of commodities, industries, and markets.

Local Market Knowledge

Maintains comprehensive knowledge of local food and paper requirements, regulations including importation, tariffs, ingredient specifications, and sustainability. Familiarity with local food suppliers, agents, and distributors is essential.

Supplier Management

Manages suppliers with KPIs to ensure performance, addresses issues, and conducts local negotiations. Oversees the RFI/RFP process and maintains strong supplier relationships.

Program Management and Data Analysis

Supports product development with strategic and preferred suppliers, ensuring compliance with brand standards and specifications. Builds contingency and capacity growth plans, conducts testing, and maintains structured data for spend analysis, demand forecasting, and supply network optimization.

NPD and New Market Support

Facilitates supply chain solutions for new markets, including supplier approvals and project management to ensure alignment with company standards and strategies.

Franchisee Support

Builds strong partnerships with franchise partners, supporting network enhancements and strategic planning.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years experience in Supply Chain Management
  • B.S./B.A. in Business, Economics, Agriculture, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Skills in commodity market analysis, strategy, project management, and multi-project handling
  • International supply chain experience; restaurant industry experience preferred
  • Strong English communication skills; regional language skills are a plus
  • Knowledge of local regulations and import restrictions
  • Supplier relationship management skills; understanding of total cost of ownership; previous supervisory experience
